A World Without Language Barriers

Waverly Labs a New York based start up company recently announced a revolutionary new wearable device that translates effortless and instantaneous (in real time)

One of the features of the Pilot is it’s  offline functionality, this is a great feature as it allows for the device to be used in areas with poor internet connections . The device will initially support latin, french and germanic languages on launch but there will also be a companion app available that will allow the user to download “add on” language packs to the device, the Pilot will also double as a music player.

The Real World

Are we ready for real-time translation hardware? I personally think we are, as current translation tools like the Google Translate and Microsoft Live Translator just don’t seem to be “cutting it” in the real world.

Pilot will be available for pre-order from May the 25’th via the Waverly Labs website and will be sold in the US for $299.00 (around  R4716.00) The device will be available in black, white and red on launch.
